Ritual commemorates Confucius' 2,566th birthday in Beijing

A ceremony marking the 2,566th anniversary of the ancient Chinese philosopher Confucius' birthday was held at the Confucius Temple in Beijing, Sept 28, 2015. The event signified the closing of the 20-day 5th Beijing Confucian Temple and The Imperial College Cultural Festival.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life attended the memorial ceremony held at the Dacheng Hall (Hall of Great Accomplishment), the main building of the temple.

More than 200 students from Guangqumen Middle School chanted paragraphs from Confucian classics.
