Bouteflika to resign before April 28
Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will resign before his term ends on April 28, according to a statement from the president's office carried by the official APS news agency. April 28 is the date Bouteflika's term was scheduled to end. On Sunday, Bouteflika appointed members of the new cabinet led by Prime Minister Noureddine Bedoui. The top task of the new government is ensuring a smooth power transition even as the gas-rich North African country has faced protests rallies since Feb 22 demanding changes.

Airline grounds two Boeing 787-10 aircraft
Singapore Airlines has grounded two Boeing 787-10 aircraft due to the deterioration of engines, which was found in routine inspections, according to a statement issued on Tuesday. It said some of the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN engines on Singapore Airlines' Boeing 787-10 fleet were found to have "premature blade deterioration". Pending engine replacements, two SIA 787-10 aircraft have been removed from service, it added.

PM rules out rescuing IS fighters' children
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has ruled out risking Australian lives to bring the children of Islamic State extremists stranded in Syria back to Australia. Responding to reports that three children of Khaled Sharrouf, an Australian who left the country in 2013 to fight for the IS in Syria, have been found stranded in a Syrian refugee camp, Morrison said that any operation to return the children to the family in Australia would be too risky.
