Prada Sa, a world luxury products group, has canceled its authorization to a Prada franchise store in the Pudong International Airport after counterfeit merchandise was found.

Prada issued the statement through Shanghai M&A Law Firm, which published the notice in the Xinmin Evening News.

According to the statement, Prada SA claimed counterfeit items were being sold in the franchise store at the airport. Based on that claim, the Prada group has ended its authorization of the store to sell Prada products.

Now the only authorized Prada franchise store in Shanghai is located on No. 1266 Nanjing Road W. There are seven other franchise stores in other cities of China, including Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu.

Prada said in the statement that it will take action against all those who violate its trademark, including civil and criminal lawsuits. It will also seek help from the government.
