Sun Lei, former executive deputy head of Nansha district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, has resigned to become president of a privately run company.

Sun, 47, was named in a news report in Xiaoshan Daily as president of TransfarPolis, a high-tech industrial park in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Aug 29.

Sun accompanied Xu Guanju, chairman of the Transfar group, the parent company of TransfarPolis, during Xu's visit to a software application technology research institute in Nansha in February.

Sun holds a doctor's degree in industrial economics. His transfer is the second such in Guangzhou reported by the media recently.

Chen Weicai, former director of the personnel division of the public security bureau of Guangzhou, was appointed vice-president of Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances Inc, a leading manufacturer of air conditioners, last week.
