All top hospitals in Beijing will have their own official micro blog accounts by the end of March, Beijing Daily reported Wednesday.
The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health held a news conference on Monday, calling for the city's first-class hospitals to launch their official micro blogs to offer a better public service.
Beijing has 51 first-class hospitals, each with at least 501 beds and is able to provide high-level medical service to several regions and carry out higher education and scientific research.
The hospitals will adopt the micro-blogging platform to release health policies, epidemic situations, medical information and disease prevention information, the paper said.
People can also ask questions about medical service and hospital information on the micro blogs, said Lei Haichao, vice director of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Health.
