China to purchase US goods of $24.9 b: minister

Washington - Chinese Commerce Minister Chen Deming said according to his incomplete statistics, China is going to purchase US goods and products with a total value of $24.9 billion, excluding airplanes, during President Hu Jintao’s state visit to the United States.

In contrast, China’s exports to the US with a value of around $12 billion will also be signed during this visit, Chen said in a media interview on the sideline of President Hu Jintao's state visit.

The two sides will sign contract of $5.1 billion in terms of two-way investment, and China's investment in the US will be as high as $3.2 billion.
