PHNOM PENH - China's Guangxi Liugong Group is to consider its investment in building a machinery assembly plant in Cambodia, Wang Xiaohua, chairman of the Group, said here on Monday.

"The firm will study the possibility for the construction of a plant in Cambodia," he said during a meeting with Cambodian minister of commerce Cham Prasidh.

Guangxi Liugong Group is one of China's Top 500 manufacturers, the firm manufactures different types of machinery such as loaders, excavators, cranes, bulldozers, road rollers, forklift and so on.

It has branches in more than 80 countries around the world, he added.

Meanwhile, Cham Prasidh said that Cambodia fully supported the company to invest in Cambodia, saying that investing in Cambodia will get many advantages such as low labor cost and tax incentives.

"The machinery from the firm has had presence in Cambodian market for three years, the quality is as good as that from the United States," he said.

"It will be good if the company sets up the plant here and do the exportation to European countries and the United States of America," he added.
