Chongqing has required all of its citizens to learn and sing the 36 selected “red songs” in a campaign ahead of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Chongqing authorities will repeat play the "fresh and excellent" 36 songs, which include Fluttering Flag, Long Live the Motherland, and Come on China on its news radio and public TV.

News media in the municipality were urged to air the songs "in an intensive way" from April 10 to May 20, the Chongqing Daily reported.
