The pavilion's exhibition toured Shanghai, Nanjing, Suzhou and Hangzhou with an estimated audience of 10,000.

The public have previewed some of the highlights of Swiss Pavilion and staff welcomed visitors to visit the Swiss Pavilion during the Expo period, said Manuel Salchli, deputy commissioner general and director of the Swiss Pavilion.

The exhibition tour featured an interactive intelligent screen, a chairlift and 3-D scenic viewer.

The outside curtain wall of the pavilion will be made from degradable soybeans and dye-sensitized solar cells that are capable of generating electricity. From the outside, the curtain will show the map of Switzerland representing rural areas, with wires and circuits representing urban areas with infrastructure and complex networks. After the Expo period, the curtain will be "recycled" and the solar cells will be sold as souvenirs.

A six-month-long photo contest is under way for the Swiss Pavilion and winners will get the chance to travel to Switzerland with one companion.
