The skipper was among the four trapped in the "Fuyuan 3" vessel when it capsized just 6 km from the Callao port after a failed balance adjustment before entering the port.

The three Chinese crew members were extricated by the Peruvian navy and sent to a local hospital for treatment, said the Chinese embassey.

On Tuesday night, 19 crew members had been placed on another fishing boat after being rescued.

"Fuyuan 3" belongs to the Yantai marine fishery company of east China's Shandong Province.
