TAIYUAN -- Death tall from a chemical factory blast at 7:10 p.m. Saturday in north China's Shanxi province rose to three with two others seriously injured, said local authorities.
The explosion occurred at Yushe chemical plant in Jinzhong City, said the provincial government in a statement.
Three people were slightly injured at the work site, and another 34 people wounded by broken glass. All the injured were sent to hospital.
The explosion didn't cause leaking of harmful gas. Rescue workers were still trying to put out the remaining fire at the midnight of Saturday. The situation was basically put under control, said the statement.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
