BEIJING - China's 129 centrally-managed state-owned enterprises (SOEs) paid 1.14 trillion yuan (about $168 billion) in taxes last year, up 10.1 percent year on year, the State Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) said Friday.
Some 23 SOEs paid tax of over 10 billion yuan in 2009, up from eight in 2003 when the SASAC was founded.
