Liquid caustic soda spilt on E China's highway after collision

HANGZHOU - Firemen are clearing 27 tonnes of liquid caustic soda spilt on a highway in east China's Zhejiang Province after a tanker carrying the chemical collided with a container truck Friday morning.

The driver of the container truck died in the accident, which happened at a highway section in Shengzhou City at 5 a.m., police said.

The chemical is highly corrosive.
