BEIJING - A month-long study tour of Confucianism was held in Qufu city in east China's Shandong province, where the great saint Confucius was born and lived more than 2,500 years ago.

The festival, scheduled from July 20 to August 20, featured activities about the education and experiences of Confucianism, including Chinese calligraphy and archery, a chance to taste Confucius family dishes, and lectures by Confucianism scholars. The festival's theme is "Study in Qufu and Make Life Happy."

Primary and high school students from Japan, the Republic of Korea and Southeast Asian countries have attended the annual event since 2006.
