Woman killed in subway accident in Shanghai

A woman died after becoming trapped in the door of a subway train and crushed by the railings in Shanghai on July 5, 2010, eastday.com reported.

The female passenger was trying to crowd into the train when her wrist became trapped as the door was closing at Zhongshan Park station at about 18:16 pm.

A serviceman attempted to free the woman, but the train started pulling away, and she was dragged into the railings before hitting the platform.

She was taken to the hospital, but died despite efforts to save her.

Police are investigating the case.
