Strong wind to sweep through North China

BEIJING - A cold front will sweep through most parts of north China in the next three days, bringing strong winds and a temperature drop of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius or more, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Friday.

South Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and central and western Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are to be hit by sandstorms, and residents are advised to wear masks or scarves when outdoor, it said.

South China will experience a new round of rainy days which may cause flooding. Provinces of Hubei, Anhui, Hunan and Jiangsu, and Shanghai Municipality will have moderate rains or even heavy rains in the weekend.

The NMC issued an alert of possible flood and mud flow in those areas.
