China's police chief meets Interpol president

BEIJING: China's top police officer Meng Jianzhu met here Tuesday with Khoo Boon Hui, president of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).

Hailing Interpol as the most representative inter-governmental organization on police cooperation, Meng said China's Ministry of Public Security attached great importance to the cooperation with Interpol.

Meng, a State Councilor and Public Security Minister, said Interpol China National Central Bureau had carried out fruitful cooperation on law enforcement with other Interpol members.

Appreciating the contributions made by China's Ministry of Public Security to Interpol, Khoo said the Organization would continue to support the work of Interpol China National Central Bureau.

Khoo, also Commissioner of the Singapore Police, said Singapore attached importance to police cooperation with China and was willing to strengthen the cooperation.
