Weihai bus accident victims get compensation

Survivors and families of the passengers who died in last week's bus accident in Weihai, East China's Shandong province, have received full compensation of 380,000 yuan per person, the Shandong Insurance Regulatory Bureau said.

A bus loaded with 22 people, including the driver, veered off a cross-sea bridge and plunged into the sea on November 12, leaving 13 dead.

Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance Company, where the bus was registered for carrier liability insurance, paid a total of 5.32 million yuan in compensation, of which 4.94 million yuan is for the families who lost family members in the accident and 380,000 yuan is for medical treatment of each of the nine survivors.
