Kuala Lumpur: China and Malaysia signed a memo on banking supervision Wednesday morning in Malaysian capital during President Hu Jintao's visit to the Southeast Asian country.

Under the arrangement, the two countries' regulatory authorities will forge deeper cooperation in banking supervision, including the sharing of information and in the promotion of regional financial integration.

The MOU was inked by Liu Mingkang, Chairman of China Banking Regulatory Commission, and Tan Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia.

President Hu will leave Malaysia Wednesday afternoon for Singapore, where he will attend the APEC summit over the weekend.
