Sanming to host cross-Straits Forestry Expo

The 5th cross-Straits Forestry Expo will be held in Sanming, Fujian province from Nov 6 to 9 to enhance cooperation between the mainland and Taiwan in the forest industry.

The Forestry Expo will include exhibition and sales of forest products, investment invitations, forums and more. Over 500 Taiwan enterprises and representatives from Fujian and ten other provinces will attend.

Woodwork, bamboo products, flowers, food and other products will be exhibited and sold to visitors at the Expo.

Compared with the previous four expos, this year's Expo will expand its content from only forestry and agriculture to industries such as biological medicine, manufacturing, mining and tourism. Agreements of 137 projects with a total investment of 7.95 billion yuan have been inked as of Oct 18.

Since the first cross-Straits Forestry Expo in 2005, the city of Sanming has introduced more than 200 agricultural species and technologies from Taiwan.
