Trash pile collapse kills four in SW China

CHONGQING: Three adults and a two-year-old girl were killed after a huge pile of trash collapsed in Chongqing Municipality Friday, the local government said.

Three woman were collecting used plastic bottles at a rubbish yard in Yunfeng Village of Huayan Township on Friday afternoon.

Trash pile collapse kills four in SW China15 injured in N. China building collapse

However, the pile of trash suddenly collapsed and toppled a wall of the yard, burying the trash collectors and a baby, daughter of one of the collectors.

The four were dead when they were found by rescuers in the rubble at about 5 pm, according to the government of Huayan.

Police were investigating the accident.
