China's first industrial park focused on the internet will be officially launched in Shenzhen in October, Guangzhou Daily reported.

The Shenzhen (Nanshan) Internet Industrial Base began to attract investment in mid-September and a mobile Internet company based in Beijing has already moved into the park.

The base is supported by both governmental and non-governmental funds, said an official with the Science and Technology Bureau of Nanshan District, where the base locates.

The first phase of the base covers a building area of 11,000 sq m that will attract 50 to 60 Internet companies covering several different internet-related sectors including content, e-commerce, and mobile Internet. The second and third phases of the park are still in preparation, and will make Nanshan the biggest Internet cluster in Shenzhen when completed.
