Conman flees with lady's purse on blind date

A woman in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, went on a blind date with a man she met through a lonely-hearts advertisement last Tuesday. The man ran away with her purse.

The woman, surnamed Tao, a 37-year-old divorcee, received a response to her advertisement for marriage and agreed to meet the caller at a restaurant in the city.

While having dinner, Tao went to the restroom, and when she returned, she couldn't find her date nor her purse, which contained her phone, a camera and more than 3,000 yuan ($450).

Police are investigating.
