Official falls 17 floors to death in late night

HANGZHOU: A top local work safety official in eastern Zhejiang Province was confirmed dead after falling from his home early Friday morning, according to the local government.

Bao Zhen, head of the work safety administration of Jiaxing city, fell from his home on the 17th floor of an apartment building in the city at around 0:25 am Friday, and died later in hospital, the municipal publicity department said.

Police are investigating the case.
