Nearly 200 arrest warrants issued

Authorities in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have issued arrest warrants to 196 suspects and prosecuted 51 of them for their involvement in the July 5 riot in Urumqi.

The police have further requested that the procuratorate approves the arrest of another 239 suspects thought to have been involved in 140 crimes. Another 825 are being held in criminal detention, the regional information office said.
