Seven confirmed A(H1N1) cases in Chengdu

An outbreak of the A(H1N1) influenza at a college in Chengdu, Sichuan province has resulted in the confirmed infection of seven students, all of whom have been quarantined and remain under close observation, Chengdu’s health bureau announced last night.

The students, from the Sichuan Southwest College of Civil Aviation, were participating in military training exercises when the new academic year started on Aug 28.

Sichuan’s education department also said schools should test students’ body temperatures each morning, and should not gather large groups of students indoors until within a week.
