Six killed by lightning in East China

HEFEI: Six farmers were killed and another injured by lightning in East China's Anhui province Sunday, local officials said.

The seven were taking shelter in a hut as it rained heavily in Qiaodong village, Taihu county of Anhui Province at around 5 pm Sunday.

However, the hut was hit by a lightning strike, leaving six dead and the other injured, officials from the county government said.

The injured has been rushed to hospital and was recovering, the officials said.
