Illegal explosives blast kills three in N China

TAIYUAN: Three people were killed and two others injured in an explosion triggered by illegal explosives manufacture Friday evening in a brickyard in Wenshui County of north China's Shanxi Province.

County officials said the owner of the Yuhai Brickyard of Maxi Village had surrendered himself to the police in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Initial police investigation showed the accident occurred while workers were making illegal explosives as required by the brickyard owner.

Investigations are proceeding. The injured are receiving medical treatment.
