Net-addicted son cries theft as mom hides laptop

Police in Foshan, Guangdong province, detained a 19-year-old man for filing a false complaint about his computer being stolen even though he was aware his mother had hidden it on Sunday.

Chen, an Internet addict, phoned police saying his laptop had been stolen. Investigations revealed the complainant knew his mother, desperate to get her son to do something constructive, had hidden it in the house, as she had done several times before.
