Drunk driving sours into brawl, 17 police injured

Seventeen policemen and six fire fighters were injured in a conflict with locals in Pingshan district, Shenzhen Tuesday, the Southern Metropolis News reported.

Three unlicensed motor drivers, who were tested drinking alcohol, refused to show the licenses after they were stopped by the police. The conflict was escalated when the three men called 40 people and they clashed with the police.

Sixteen suspects were detained after 100 policemen were dispatched to end the conflict.
