Cardiovascular seminar opens in Kunming

The 7th Scientific Conference on Cardiovascular Sciences across the Taiwan Straits opening ceremony was held in Kunming on Aug 15,2009. Experts on Cardiovascular from mainland of China, Hongkong, Taiwan as well as world famous scholars on the subject from Australia, US and Canada got together to communicate and cooperate with each other on cardiovascular sciences, which is of great help to promote the cooperation and communication across the strait in Greater China.The conference can help enhance the integral level of Greater China on the research of Cardiovascular.

The conference will continue from Aug 15 to 17. This is the largest in scale with the most people participated in history since 1995, according to ZhangYouyi, Academic Committee Chairman of the conference. A total of 236 abstracts were collected for the conference and 15 world famous scholars will give invitational lectures and almost 100 scholars will give presentations on the subjects of pathology, physiology,pharmacology and clinical of Cardiovascular Science. Youth outstanding papers will be chosen from 25 candidates, there will be one for the first prize, 3 for the second prize and 6 for the third prize.

The innovation of the conference lies in taking the pathology of perivascular adipose tissue potentials vascular contraction in aorta into clinical practices of curing obesity, the experimental proves of regulation of micro RNA on pathology of heart diseases, the pathology research of essential hypertension and sudden death among minorities in places like Chuxiong and the use of postconditional treatment fit for ischemia cardiovascular in cerebrovascular Ischemic situation. Said by LiShuqing, chairman of conference organizing committee.

PM Vanhoutte, a professor from Hongkong University, professor Chen Jiefu from Taiwan and professor Murray Esler from Australia have given remarkable academic reports after the opening ceremony.

Professor PM Vanhoutte and Professor TM Wong are disscussing During the break, Professor PM Vanhoutte told us that this is his third trip to Kunming. He said that Kunminmg, one of the most important cities on cardiovascular research, is very beautiful and comfortable. He also said that the conference is very promotive for the development of cardiovascular research across the strait and all over the world.
