A county government in Xinjiang sent its first batch of ethnic workers to other areas in the country after "July 5" riot last month, People's Daily reported Friday.

189 young Uygur women from Jiashi county, Kashi prefecture went to Zhejiang province by train on August 5, and they will be working at two of the local textile factories there.

All of them have received language training and instruction in the skills they will need before they left home.

As of August, Jiashi has sent more than 4,300 workers to 21 enterprises in seven provinces.
