HK official on field trip to relocate production bases

HONG KONG: Hong Kong's Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Rita Lau Monday left for Ganzhou, Jiangxi province, to assess the municipal government's latest policies for attracting Hong Kong enterprises to relocate their production bases from Guangdong to Ganzhou.

Located in southern Jiangxi province and adjacent to Guangdong province, Ganzhou is one of the sites earmarked for the relocation of the processing industry under the national policy to optimize the industrial structure.

Lau will visit the Ganzhou Economic-Technological Development Zone, an export processing zone and some local enterprises during her two-day visit.

Lau will also exchange views with municipal government officials on measures for facilitating cooperation between Hong Kong and Ganzhou enterprises in procurement, with the aim of helping Hong Kong enterprises to develop and tap the Mainland market.
