Seven killed in NE China expressway pileup

SHENYANG: Seven people died and six others were slightly injured after a pileup involving eight vehicles on an expressway in northeast China's Liaoning Province, local traffic police said Saturday.

The pileup happened at midday Saturday on the Dandong section of the expressway linking Shenyang, capital of Liaoning, with Dandong City.

Three were killed at the scene. Four others died on the way to hospitals. The six injured have been hospitalized.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
