The workers from Jindi Industry Group Co., a major state-owned textile company, had blocked a main road in Fuling District as of 9 p.m.

There was no conflict between the protesters and the police who were maintaining order at the spot.

The workers told Xinhua that the protest was aimed at attracting government attention as they had not been paid for three months.
