3 dead, 17 injured in traffic accident

GUANGZHOU -- A long-distance bus turned over in south China's Guangdong Province Friday, killing three passengers on the spot, including the driver, local government said.

The accident occurred at around 9 a.m. at a section of the Beijing-Zhuhai expressway in Lechang City when the bus with 42 passengers aboard was en route to Hengshan, neighboring Hunan Province, from Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong.

Local rescuers have sent 17 slightly injured passengers to hospitals. The others left unharmed.
