Van-truck collision kills 6 in N China

TAIYUAN -- Six people were killed and another one was injured after a van and truck collided Friday in north China's Shanxi Province, local police said.

The van, with seven people on board, crashed head-on with the truck   at about 11:30 a.m. on a highway in Huguan County of Changzhi City.

The six dead and one injured were all from the van. The truck's driver ran away after the accident.

The injured person is receiving treatment in a hospital. Police are trying to track down the driver.

The van, registered in Shanxi, had a maximum capacity of eight people.The truck was registered in central Henan Province.

An investigation is underway.
