Killer of six Chinese police executed in Shanghai

SHANGHAI -- Yang Jia, a 28-year-old man who had been convicting of killing six police officers in Shanghai earlier this year, was executed here on Wednesday morning with the approval of the Supreme People's Court.

Yang Jia, from Beijing, on July 1 stormed into a Shanghai police bureau and killed six officers.

The Shanghai High Court rejected Yang's appeal against his death sentence in October.

Yang, 28, was sentenced to death on September 1 in the first trial at the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court for killing six officers and injuring four others in the July 1 assault.
