Heavy rainfalls trigger floods in E China

Soldiers of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) help local residents transfer daily goods on the flooded street in Quanjiao, east China's Anhui Province, Aug. 3, 2008. Torrential rains since July 31 have resulted in the rising of water levels, which exceeded warning levels in some sections of Chuhe River, Deshenghe River and Xingxihe River in the region. The flood has forced relocation of 76,361 people in Anhui, according to the provincial flood control and drought relief headquarters. [Xinhua]
