Injured fisherman rescued, airlifted for treatment

Three fishermen were rescued after their boat sank early Wednesday mornning near Shandong province, and one of them, who was badly injured, was airlifted to a Penglai hospital for treatment.

The fishing boat was from Liaoning Province, and they were all rescued by a passing ship.

At 7:30 am, the North Sea No 1 Search and Rescue Flying Service was alerted by Weihai maritime rescue center, saying that a rescue helicopter was needed urgently to search the missing fishermen.

The rescue team of B-7312 made preparations and took off an hour later.

The helicopter started to search in the sea area, but found no survivors in the areas of the wreckage, and found only some flotage in the hour-long search.

At about 10 cm, they told that three fishermen were successfully rescued by a ship passing by, however, one of them was seriously injured and needed urgent treatment.

B-7312 quickly headed to the required position and took the injured on board. An hour later, the helicopter landed on the Penglai rescue base and the injured fisherman was immediately sent to a local hospital for treatment.
