Blast kills 3, injures 15 in central China village

ZHENGZHOU - Three people were killed and 15 injured in an explosion in a village in central China's Henan Province on Thursday.

The blast occurred at around 7 a.m. in a house in Wuzhuang village in Yongcheng City, said a spokesman with the Public Security Bureau of Shangqiu City.

The injured were being treated in local hospitals and two of them were described as seriously hurt.

Police found a number of fuses for firecrackers in the debris but they still did not know the cause of the blast.

The dead were from a family of four. Another family member was one of the two seriously injured.

More than ten rooms collapsed in the explosion.
