BEIJING - China has received the application of the USS Kitty Hawk's intended visit to Hong Kong, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu here on Tuesday.

"We will examine and approve such kind of application with the principle of sovereignty and according to specific situation." Jiang told a regular press conference.

Jiang said China had approved the application of the USS Nimitz's visit to Hong Kong earlier this month.
