The Dalian Customs office in northeastern China seized major quantity of drugs recently, according to a notice on the official website of the General Customs Administration on Wednesday.

The officers at the Dalian customs on December 21 spotted and seized 2.06 kilograms of methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as "ice" in the baggage of a Japanese passenger on flight CA 951 from Dalian to Tokyo.

The case has been handed over to the police for investigation. Customs didn't reveal the name of the suspect.

Chinese police smashed an international drug trafficking ring on Tuesday in eastern China's Zhejiang Province, arrested 10 suspects and destroyed one drug factory, seizing 16.8 kg of "ice".

Chinese lawmakers are expected to adopt the country's first anti-drug law, which aimed at curbing drug-related crimes and reducing the growing number of users.
