3 killed in coach station building collapse

HOUMA, Shanxi -- Three people were killed and six others injured as a coach station building under construction collapsed in north China's Shanxi Province, confirmed local sources on Sunday.

The accident occurred in Houma City in southern Shanxi at about 0:40 am Sunday, when 19 workers were pouring concrete for the two-storey passenger building.

Two bodies were recovered from the debris, and one wounded died later in hospital. Six other injured are under medical treatment, but it is unknown if they are in critical condition.

The building, constructed by the Urban Construction Corporation of Zhejiang in east China, is expected to be used in May next year.

The cause of the collapse is being investigated.
