Doctors and police sought the help of fire fighters to save an obese man in Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Tuesday.

The man, surnamed Ye, weighed more than 150 kg and was critically ill when his family members called doctors to their third-floor apartment. The doctors could not carry the 32-year-old man, so they the called the police. They could not lift the man, either, so they called the fire department. Ye was eventually lifted downstairs, into a waiting ambulance and made it to hospital.
