Two cockerels owned by a woman surnamed Zhang have been attracting fans because of their footballing abilities, in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

"They learned how to play football one day in early February when I was playing it myself. To my amusement, they liked the ball so much they joined in and quickly learned how to play," Zhang said on Saturday, while her pets showed off their soccer skills for neighbors.

In addition to the cockerels' ball skills the birds double up as security guards and crow loudly if strangers come near the house, Zhang said.
