Police in Zibo, Shandong Province, were called out for a burglary by a farmer, only to discover the man had hidden the money in his pigsty.

The farmer, surnamed Li, buried 15,800 yuan ($2,020) in a pig's pen on Sunday, thinking no one would look for it there, and went to a friend's party.

Li got drunk and panicked on returning home because he had forgotten where he had hid the money, thinking someone had stolen it.

He called the police and they came out to see him. In view of the man's inebriated state they decided to make a thorough search of his premises before filing a report and eventually found the money in a hole in the pigsty.
