A 12-year-old girl stopped growing after her parents divorced four years ago in Shenyang, Liaoning Province.

Xiao Li, who stands a diminutive 120 cm tall, is much shorter than her peers, though her parents are of normal heights. Xiao Li has been depressed since her parents divorced.

Doctors said depression could affect the production of growth hormone, which would slow one's growth.

A cheerful mood and healthy lifestyle that includes getting enough sleep and exercise will help ensure children grow normally, doctors said.
