YONGZHOU - Nine people were dead and one is missing after a boat sank in a reservoir in Central China's Hunan Province, local government said on Tuesday.

The boat with 15 aboard sank around 2:00 pm on Tuesday while sailing on the Shuangpai reservoir from Jiangcun Town to Shangyou Village in Shuangpai County, according to the government of Yongzhou City, which administers Shuangpai.

Five people were rescued. Workers have recovered the bodies of nine and are still searching for the missing person.

The cause of the accident is being investigated.
