NANCHANG, -- The Meteorological Observatory of east China's Jiangxi Province released high temperature warning on Sunday amid the highest temperature so far this summer.

Controlled by the subtropical high barometric pressure, the temperature in most cities and counties in Jiangxi was reported at more than 35 degrees Celsius Saturday. The highest was reported above 39 degrees in Ruichang City

According to the observatory, Jiangxi has already suffered three rounds of continuous high temperature weather this summer.

The high temperature once again brought great pressures to the city's power supply.

The provincial government temporarily changed the working schedule of some heavily power-consuming enterprises and demanded the temperature of air conditioners in government institutions and hotels be set at 26 degrees Celsius.

The government also urged health departments to carry out efforts on hotness-related diseases prevention.

The observatory said Jiangxi would continue to suffer high temperature weather on Sunday.
